Cultural Mentor at Pratt Institute Summer Precollege Program

Developed a class for 16-18 year old students for a summer program, from proposal stage through execution. Ran evening clubs and workshops in the arts field to educate and keep students engaged. Led students on museum visits, cultural excursions, as well as on-and-off-campus activities. Acted as a direct liaison for the Precollege program and as a role model. Used knowledge of New York City to navigate the public transportation system to lead students safely to and from off-campus activities.

Managed activities for 40 children, between the ages of 6 and 13 years old; assisted camp director in creating games and programming; instructing them through drawing, painting, and other arts and crafts activities, keeping them engaged and helping them learn; helping lead children on trips to public places such as amusement parks and zoos, keeping alert to any present threats and making sure they are listening, engaged, and staying safe and respectful to the public.
