I have been a copy editor for the past six years. I have worked on a wide range of projects, including scientific journals, blogs, eBooks, and even novels. Recently, I specialized in editing online content that was focused on VPNs, cybersecurity, online privacy, and antivirus software. I also used the popular SEO tool Ahrefs to find suitable keywords to improve an article's position in SERPs. My responsibilities so far as an editor have included auditing the work of writers and other copy editors and ensuring the copy was free from errors, optimized to contain specific keywords, included external links that led to reputable sources, was not plagiarized, and followed the company’s style guide regarding written content. As an editor, I was also responsible for providing feedback to writers on how to improve their writing style, ways to use appropriate anchor text for links, and ensuring that their work adhered to what the company required regarding written content. Additionally, in my most current role, I assisted my Chief Editor in various tasks, including doing quality checks on the final versions of articles. I also provided feedback to my colleagues regarding the editing process they followed and indicated the different parts of an article where our guidelines and style guide were not followed. Moreover, I was responsible for enhancing an article’s ranking potential by using various tools like SurferSEO and Frase.
