I’m Isabel Peláez, a children’s book illustrator and character designer who loves creating stories full of warmth, humor, and imagination. I studied 2D and 3D Animation at U-TAD in Madrid, where I also completed a Master’s in Character Design. That experience taught me to think of every detail (color, shape, and gesture as part of a character’s inner world and story. My first illustrated book, Pelo Uno tiene una misión, tells the story of a brave little hair who must leave Irene’s head to help her defeat a powerful dragon. It’s a story about courage, change, and the strength found in love and resilience. Working on it helped me understand how illustration can turn complex emotions like fear, loss, and hope into something tender and accessible for children. I enjoy collaborating with writers, musicians, and designers to create immersive worlds where images and storytelling flow together. My work often explores cultural diversity, empathy, and the small, magical details that make stories feel alive. I mainly work with Adobe Creative Suite and Procreate, combining digital and hand-drawn techniques. Above all, I care about creating illustrations that feel genuine, expressive, and full of heart, images that invite children to dream, reflect, and smile.
