In 2015, I stepped off a plane into the UK with no safety net, just a dream, grit, and an absolute refusal to fail. I didn’t know the culture. I didn’t know anyone. But I did know this: I would earn my place. I dove headfirst into a degree in Applied Geology at Plymouth University, determined not just to survive, but to stand out. Not for the spotlight, but because when you’re an international student betting everything on yourself, mediocrity isn’t an option. That mindset shaped the way I approached every challenge that followed and it’s the same mindset I now bring to freelance data analysis. A two-week placement at Wolf Minerals became a crash course in precision, teamwork, and translating complex information into real-world outcomes. I pushed hard, asked questions, and learned to work with data not as numbers on a page but as the backbone of operational decisions. My year-long placement with Paul Fassam Geomatics accelerated that growth. I went from assistant to leading over 60 high-stakes surveying projects, including airfields for civilian and military use an experience that taught me accuracy, accountability, and how to manage large-scale datasets under pressure. I earned a permanent role before I’d even finished my degree. Then the world shut down. While others waited for normality to return, I stepped directly into the fire as a caregiver during the pandemic. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was real. It built a different kind of strength, the kind you gain by staying grounded when everything around you fractures. I learned to lead without a title, stay calm in chaos, and show up when it would’ve been easier to fold. Those same qualities now shape the way I handle complex analytical work, tight deadlines, and difficult problem-solving. After the crisis eased, I pursued an MSc in Management and joined Sunseeker International, where I led data-driven initiatives that improved OTIF performance from 40% to 85%, created a teak passport to track and verify supply-chain origins, and introduced sustainability reporting into procurement strategy. These projects taught me how to turn messy operational data into clear insights, measurable improvements, and decisions leaders can trust. When a post-COVID hiring freeze halted sponsorship, I pivoted back into caregiving, applying my analytical mindset to care planning and complex case management. Outside of work, I chase challenge and connection through public speaking, hiking, cycling, and rugby. Across every environment, I bring fire, discipline, curiosity, and lived resilience. As a freelance data analyst, I offer more than technical skill. I bring the ability to adapt quickly, ask the right questions, make sense of ambiguity, and create clarity where there wasn’t any. I thrive in environments that demand initiative and deliver insights that help teams move forward with confidence.
