Hello friends! Welcome to my page:) I just wanted to share some quick facts about my art and who I am. My name is Lena Friday and besides being a (former) redhead I happened to live in one of the most diverse fun and exciting cities, where is that you'd ask, if you answered NYC or the Big Apple as we call it you're absolutely right! I began painting when I was about four years old and whenever people asked me what I wanted to do when I'd grow up my answer would always be "I wanna be an artist." I absolutely love living in NYC, its a multicultural multi-ethnic place, where on a given day there is so much energy to be found and are always places to be discovered and people to be seen. Although my career took a different turn, I always stuck to my first passion : painting. Painting with vibrant and happy colors reminiscing of happy times and even happier times to come ahead! A lot of my inspiration comes from Matisse, Chagall, Frida Kahlo, Van Gogh, ,as well as Brazilian, Slavic and Mexican folk art, primitive, naïf style art or just people and street scenes I see around me in NYC everyday. I was lucky enough to travel and enjoy learning about different cultures which definitely helps the artist to be inspired and pushes out the creative process forward. When I intuitively work on my paintings I use bright vibrant colors so that when the finished art piece is ready to hang on people's walls, they get a happy feeling, from my art and it improves an overall mood and well being of my customers. I also love experimenting with mixed media, such as layering acrylics, painting on wooden board and adding different textures, I can definitely go crazy with textures:) I hope that on a "bad" day people can feel sunshine and cheerful childlike happiness that I am trying to project onto my canvas. Thanks for reading
