I am Jônatas de Souza Reis, a Brazilian composer, conductor, and educator based in Belo Horizonte. Since 2012 I have served as orchestra librarian for the Orquestra Filarmônica de Minas Gerais, while pursuing a prolific career as a composer whose works blend concert music with jazz, Brazilian rhythms and Latin American folklore. I also conduct choirs, teach music analysis, and collaborate with orchestras and festivals to create vibrant musical experiences. My sacred choral works Laudate Dominum and Ubi Caritas (2023) were selected and recorded by Coro Volante in Cincinnati through Ablaze Records and Naxos Music Library; my music has earned prizes and commissions across Brazil, the United States, Poland and Hungary.
