Yves Lavallette was born in 1960 in Nevers. He is a photographer, filmmaker, and art director. In the early 1980s, he moved to Paris. Zoom and Libération published his work, paving the way for ongoing collaborations, both in France and abroad, with prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, Pictured, Max, Elle, Marie Claire, Jalouse, Soon magazine, WestEast, Tiempo, The Issue Magazine, and TL Magazine. Also in the 1980s, he collaborated under an exclusive contract with the Italian Harper’s Bazaar in Milan for several years. His personal work has been exhibited and is held in various national and international museums and collections, including the Centre National de la Photographie, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, and the Centre International de l’Estampe in Villeurbanne. His work has been published in specialized magazines such as Vis à Vis International and Dada. He directs numerous films in addition to his photography. He was a recipient of the 2000 awards organized by the French Ministry of Culture. In September 2000, France 3 produced and broadcast a film about his large-format work. In 2004, Aéroport de Paris dedicated an exhibition to him. In 2005, he directed and published the book ASIAN with Editions VILO, produced in China and Tibet. At the end of 2005, he participated in a radio program on BFM dedicated to fashion in China. From 2006 to 2014, the television channel Fashion TV produced and broadcast several films about his work. In 2013, 2014, and 2015, he was selected from among many internationally renowned photographers and exhibited at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Malta. Exhibition in New York from May to July 2015. In 2015, the book "The Reflected Eye" was published in New York. In 2018, he traveled to Canada and the United States to work on a feature film project, "Destinée manifeste" (Manifest Destiny), which he wrote and which is currently in development.
