I’m Doug Munro, a guitarist, composer, arranger and producer who has been a mainstay of the New York jazz scene since 1987. I’ve released 20 albums as a leader and appeared on more than a hundred recordings as a sideman, producer, and arranger, collaborating with artists from Dr. John to Michael Brecker and Dr. Lonnie Smith. My music spans Soul-Jazz, Organ Trio, Bossa Nova, string ensemble, and Gypsy Jazz, and I’ve written over 75 original published compositions that have been performed by some of the world’s finest players. I’ve earned two Grammy nominations and two NAIRD awards, and Amazon named Boogaloo To Beck a Top Ten Jazz CD of 2003, where I performed, arranged, and co-produced.
