I'm Smilika Guduru, a textile and fashion designer whose journey began in my mom's design studio, long before I knew what a 'career' in fashion meant. I spent my childhood stitching tiny outfits for my dolls from leftover fabrics scraps, fascinated by how cloth could transform into characters, moods, and tiny worlds of its own. Patchworking using waste fabrics became my favorite pastime—my first lessons in upcycling, creativity, and the joy of making something meaningful out of nothing. This early spark grew into a deep passion for crafts, hand embroidery, surface exploration, and sustainable textile design. Today, as a Master's student in Textiles at UCA Epsom, I continue to explore storytelling through materials, intricate detailing, and contemporary craft practices. I believe every textile holds a narrative, and my work aims to bring those stories to life with intention and artistry. Let's connect!
