I began my illustration career while still at art college, receiving my first commissioned map for BBC Good Food magazine at the age of 20. This early work launched my freelance career, leading to publications in Prima, Country Living, What Diet & Lifestyle, and Wine Magazine, as well as commissions for Cambridge University Press and Trust House Forte. In 1996, I moved to Japan, where I was represented by Grade One and Asterisk Illustration Agencies. I worked regularly for NOVA Publishing, illustrating covers for NOVA City Magazine, full-page editorial spreads for NOVARK magazine, and a range of book jackets. During this time, I was also a regular cartoonist for the Nagasaki Shimbun, creating ABC Bridge, a monthly cartoon series designed to support young children learning English. After relocating to Australia in 2006, I continued my freelance illustration practice across a wide variety of projects. My work includes the Trudie Cooper Super Foodie trilogy and Rose Grows Veggies, among many others. I am known for my distinctive use of watercolour, pencil, crayon, and expressive mark-making.
