Over the last five years, I’ve learned a variety of programming languages independently, in part-time courses at Juno as well as a 3-month intensive bootcamp at BrainStation. I have built a variety of projects leveraging React, JS, Node, Express and mySQL, including a Capstone project. I made a full stack application to help connect musicians with performance opportunities and display these performances on a map of Toronto so users can see where they are. I started by building the backend routes with a SQL database and Node.JS, followed by the frontend React portion with api calls to connect the backend. The final portion I worked on was integrating the Google Maps API to help display the gig markers. My decade of experience as a musician has taught me creativity, problem-solving, punctuality and collaboration. Moreover, I am adept at learning new information quickly and interacting with diverse populations.
