Video Editing Veteran
I have been a video editor for over 20 years. There was no formal class for it in college, so I taught myself. Then we were still editing tape-to-tape. As technology changed I continually trained myself. For almost 20-years I worked in news at a local level. I was the senior editor for the morning and noon news.
I decided to try something new and change careers. News is a stressful industry and I wanted out. I then made the wrong decision to go into insurance as a claims adjuster. I managed to make it about 6-months before I had to quit.
After that I realized I needed to continue in a career that allowed me to have an artistic outlet. I then got a job video editing as well as working web design and social media with a local law firm. While there I grew their Youtube presence by almost double. I found I also enjoyed working on the website. I enjoyed figuring out a layout and images that worked visually appealing.
Now I am working freelance video editing. I have worked under a NDA for a company out of Europe on their in house podcasts. I’ve enjoyed it and actually learned some about the medical field.
Now I’m looking to continue working freelance remote jobs. I’m willing to give anything a shot. If I can’t do it, I’ll teach myself.
If you’ve read all of this, thanks! Feel free to reach out to me if you find me the slightest bit interesting.
