Hi, I'm Julian D. Paulsen, a digital illustrator with more than 15 years in the creative industry, specializing in multiple illustration styles. Since 2009 I've worked as a freelance illustrator for a wide range of publishing, entertainment, and media clients, designing and illustrating book covers for Lucasfilm and Harlequin, and creating marketing materials for Everyman Cinemas in London. I also produced a series of 30 illustrations for a Boston Globe Spotlight Team investigative article, and I founded PonkZoo, a line of steampunk-style animal art that was shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards in 2019 and recognized by Webby and Communication Arts in 2021. Today I'm represented internationally by Illo Zoo under a non-exclusive contract, and I previously served as Senior Digital Illustrator at Orange Comet from October 2021 to July 2023. In that role I created digital illustrations in diverse styles for Web3 NFT collections for AMC, DreamWorks, Netflix, Warner Bros., and Marvel, and collaborated on personal NFT collections for Sir Anthony Hopkins and William Shatner. I designed concept art that was translated by 3D artists for use in digital collections and game environments, and I continue to pursue bold, creative projects across publishing, entertainment, and game development.
