Bobby Moynahan

I have been a musician and songwriter for over twenty years, mainly based in Los Angeles where I fronted the band Ballerina Black. We rode the arc of the L.A. underground/post-punk scene, and my songs found placements in film and television, supported by producers and a distribution deal with Universal.

Today I split time between Portland, Oregon and Berlin, Germany, and I’m working on a full-length album that shares the title What Lungs of Insects. This memoir complements the music as a companion story, and I’m exploring a book tour and cross-media release to connect with readers and listeners who have felt like outsiders, or who are navigating the messy beauty of wounded, resilient families.
