Ian Hsu is a law student at the University of York with a strong focus on the intersection of law, technology, and business. He has international experience spanning the UK and Taiwan, and works at the forefront of legal innovation and ESG strategy. As a Research Assistant at LawPlayer, a legaltech–edtech platform, he led market intelligence across six jurisdictions, helped design cross-jurisdiction legal data systems, and supported international product localization and go-to-market strategy.
Previously, Ian worked as an ESG Intern at KPMG Taiwan, where he contributed to sustainability disclosures aligned with TCFD and SASB, analyzed environmental performance data for multinational clients, and prepared board-level reports to support strategic decisions . Alongside his professional work, he provides pro bono support through the University of York Law Clinic and writes on emerging legal issues, including the EU AI Act, as part of the Ebor Lex Journal editorial team.
