I’m Chris Cracknell, a studio engineer and music producer based in the United Kingdom. I designed and built my own commercial studio, engineered hundreds of recording and mixing sessions, and led audio production projects from concept to product. I also manage client relationships, marketing and social media, and oversee part-time staff and freelance session musicians.
I volunteer as a studio engineer and mentor with Audio Active, teaching young people audio skills. Earlier in my career I held leadership roles as an Operations Director for TEC Construction and Chillchalet, which gave me a strong foundation in team management, systems and client service that I bring into every creative project.

After remixing a track for Amanda Whiting, she asked if I could help with her next album. The role grew from engineering the recording sessions to producing, mixing and mastering the entire thing.
I engineered the sessions, micing up all instruments to record the tones we wanted and running the sessions to make sure we got all the stems we needed. Then I took all the recordings back to my studio to add overdubs, vocals and eventually mix and master the whole record, deliving masters to be used for both streaming and for vinyl.
The first run of vinyl sold out immediately after airplay on 6Music and BBC Radio 2, as well as coverage worldwide on various stations.
I am so happy with how this record turned out, Amanda wanted it to sound somewhere between hip hop, classic jazz and otherworldy and I think I hit that.
