I am Nino Raphael, a theatre artist with an MFA in Theatre (CP) from Victoria University of Wellington. Since 2023 I have worked freelance as an artist and teacher, with over a decade in theatre. In recent years I have led teams, collaborated with actors and community groups to promote the arts and build sustainable practice. I have been vocal coach and composer for The Man whose Mother was a Pirate – the Musical, and I currently serve as Musical Director for two community choirs, Vocal Blokes and WOSOSI. My freelance work spans teaching at Toi Whakaari, Te Koki NZ School of Music, Queen Margaret College and Rata Studios, among others, where I coach voice, plan workshops, direct productions, and mentor emerging theatre makers.
