Nadia Uppal is an artist from Montreal, Qc. She obtained a BFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University, where she developed a keen interest for drawing and lithography. She stayed on after graduation as a lithography technician and to continue working in the studio. Nadia received a special mention by the Conseil Québécois de l’estampes jury of the Prix Albert-Dumouchel for emerging artists. Following this period, she worked as an exhibition technician for Galerie Graff learning about prominent Québécois artists. She then decided to continue her studies in traditional 2D animation and graphic design. She is currently a freelance illustrator, her art practice focuses mainly on drawing and hand drawn lettering. She has worked on poster, record cover, logo, menu design projects, and editorial illustration. Her main goal is to have a solo show, as well as to make a book of drawings. Her images are stark, whimsical, often comical observations of every day life that conveys a sense of lightheartedness.
