Designed and implemented the complete web interface for Chat AI — GWDG's self-hosted LLM platform serving 100K+ academic users — using React 19, Redux Toolkit, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript; built a token-by-token streaming chat engine with multi-model support via OpenAI SDK, with local-first conversation persistence using IndexedDB (Dexie) and cross-tab state synchronization. Implemented a full speech mode pipeline (record → transcribe → LLM response → audio synthesis → playback) and a file attachment pipeline with PDF-to-Markdown preprocessing for multimodal prompts. Developed rich message rendering supporting Markdown, KaTeX, Mermaid diagrams, and syntax-highlighted code blocks, plus import/export (JSON/PDF/TXT) and shareable settings URLs. Also created SAIA — an API key management dashboard for researchers to generate, view, and revoke API credentials — in collaboration with the research team.
