Hi, I’m Jaymz Bee. I left North Bay for Toronto in 1980 with hopes of becoming a puppeteer for Fragile Rock, but life had a different stage for me. After a devastating house fire, I rebuilt my career in music, touring with bands, booking and promoting festivals, curating galleries, and running a nightclub. I’ve spent decades mentoring, producing, and presenting work for audiences across Canada, and I’m driven by helping other artists succeed. I spent twenty-two years hosting Jazz In The City on Jazz FM 91.1 and four years doing Jazz Gone Wild (also on JAZZ.FM91), while also working with Vesuvius Music and various labels. I’ve served on charity boards, organized fundraisers, and lectured at universities and festivals about the music industry. My world is music in all its forms, from performance and arrangement to promotion and production, and I’m always eager to lend a hand to fellow artists. I've composed soundtracks for films and work with the award winning Jono Grant in his studio, Victory Drive Recording. When I'm not writing or producing music you can find me writing and directing films. Three short films to date and I just finished my first feature film. I love creating and work very fast - I'm comfortable in all genres of music but I'm most experience producing jazz and soul records.
