Hello, my name is Eiyal Fogel. I am twenty-four years old and live in Maryland. I plan to graduate from the University of Maryland in 2026 with a degree in Cinema and Media Studies. I come from a large family of five, and after graduation, I plan to pursue a career in the movie or media industry and move up the ranks as the years go by and my skills improve. The reason why I chose to major in cinema and media studies is due to my love and passion for film and storytelling. I have always had this passion for film and writing since I was young, so I knew that I wanted to go to college to learn about cinema and obtain a college degree. I also went to community college for two years and obtained an associate's degree in general studies. Since attending both community college and UMD, I have taken numerous classes in cinema and scriptwriting to learn more about the field and enhance my writing skills. One such class forced me to write my own movie script and present it to the class to understand how to write movie scripts. In addition to this, I also took a class in video editing and graphic arts, which helped enhance my editing and graphic design skills while learning the technical parts of the entertainment industry. Throughout my time in college, I faced some hardships with film classes and graphic design classes, such as not having much prior experience in the technical field when it came to editing and designing, and struggling with writing. Although I always kept a cool head and pulled through with help from friends and family. Reflecting on my time in college, I have learned a lot more about myself as a person. I have learned that I want to help tell stories and entertain people. I would be open to moving to New York or California, but I am also open to staying in Maryland as well. I have also learned to be a more creative person, especially as a storyteller. Although I am currently not working at the moment, I have had some small experience in the film/media industry. During my senior year internship, I helped edit commercial footage for a local TV program. This opportunity helped me deepen my knowledge of the industry and enhance my video production skills. After my time in college, I hope to be more confident and learned in my skills as a writer and editor, and although I still have a long way to go, I am excited for what the future holds.
