I was born in Cuba and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I studied Graphic Arts, Photography, Illustration, and Fine Arts. My paintings range from realistic to graphic expressionist in style, and I have created large-format works for private collections and commercial spaces. I also write and illustrate children's books under the pen name Professor Gus, including a line of Professor Gus Books such as The H Brothres, The Tree that Wears a Coat (approved by the Miami Library in 2023), The Girl and the Magical Fluet, Kate and Cate, The Princess and the Crown, Mia’s Birthbath, and more. In the advertising world, I founded White Raven Advertising in 2010 and served as Creative Director, producing websites, catalogs, TV commercials, logos, and photography. My career also includes leadership roles at Schawk!, St. Ives, Hecht’s, and Avanti-Casehoyt, where I guided brand design and marketing across hundreds of stores.
