I'm a software engineer focused on backend and data systems, with strong experience in Python and relational databases. I enjoy applying software engineering, statistical and computational methods to solve real-world problems. I have built machine learning models, developed data processing pipelines, and implemented backend services, contributing across the full lifecycle—from raw data preprocessing to model training, evaluation, and deployment. Oxford Academic publication references my work on simultaneous enumeration of yeast and bacterial cells in industrial bio-process contexts. I work with Python, C, and Assembly, and I have applied computer vision and mathematical morphology techniques to identify and segment cells and colonies in microscopy and panoramic images, implemented using Python and common CV tools.

Work Experience

Computer Vision Researcher at FEA/UNICAMP
February 1, 2023 - February 1, 2024
As part of a research project, I developed an algorithm for detection, counting, and classification of yeast cells and yeast colonies in microscopic and panoramic images. The solution was implemented in Python using computer vision techniques and employs mathematical and image processing methods such as the Hough Transform and Morphology to accurately identify and segment cells and colonies. Publication featured on Oxford Academic.
Machine Learning Researcher at NIED Unicamp
February 1, 2024 - October 1, 2025
Developed an automated academic article classification system for a research project using linear and nonlinear SVM, MLP models, and large language models (LLMs). Participated in the full model development pipeline—from preprocessing and structuring raw, unstandardized data to model training and evaluation. Achieved a 94% F1-score with reduced-model approaches.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at State University of Campinas (UNICAMP)
January 1, 2023 - January 1, 2027
