Hello! I’m Shawn Basil Gouveia, a bilingual filmmaker from Santa Cruz, Madeira. I’m a writer-director-producer with a passion for storytelling that travels between Portugal and the UK, and I’ve had a short film screened at BFI Southbank in 2025. I hold an MA in Filmmaking from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham and I work across directing, screenwriting, production and location management. Outside the camera, I’m dual Portuguese-American and have full work authorization in the EU, Ireland and the USA, which helps me collaborate on diverse projects across borders.
