Carolina Hengstenberg is a composer, arranger, orchestrator and musical director born in Madrid, Spain. After studying classical saxophone at Katarina Gurská, she continued her studies at the Escuela de Música Creativa, specialising in jazz, composition and arrangements. Pursuing broader goals, she moved to Boston to study Composition, Film Scoring and Orchestral Conducting at Berklee College of Music, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and received awards in both Counterpoint and Arrangements. Carolina has been highly active as a saxophonist, composer, arranger and musical director. Her compositions have been performed in both Madrid and Boston, where she was a member of the Society of Composers. She is co-founder and composer of her own animation studio, Bubblegum Cartoons, based in Los Angeles, was one of the orchestrators for the Carnegie Hall Christmas concerts in New York, and musical director of "Grease" in Boston. She currently works on projects in Spain and the USA, is a composition delegate for CIMA, the Association of Women Filmmakers, and a board member of the International Alliance for Women in Music. She is also a teacher in the Superior Composition course at the Centro Superior Música Creativa and at Berklee College of Music – Berklee Online.
