Hello, I’m Alessandro Rampazzo, a Helsinki-based photographer and filmmaker with Italian roots. I’ve spent over a decade shooting photojournalism and documentary pictures and video across the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Europe, collaborating with major outlets and agencies. I studied political sciences and human rights at the University of Padova, and I speak Italian, English, French, Portuguese and some Arabic. I’m passionate about telling human stories with empathy and clarity, whether through a single frame or a short film. I’ve built a career as a freelance visual storyteller, covering crises, elections, migration, and cultural stories for international publications and broadcasters (New York Times, Washington Post, Le Monde, HS, BBC, CNN, among others). My work blends photojournalism with documentary-style images to convey context, emotion, and resilience of people I meet on assignment. This is the spirit I bring in any job I take, both journalistic as well as corporate. On top of my journalistic work I collaborate with event companies (Latamo, Sisters among others) and big finnish companies (Kone, Wärtsilä, among others) both for picture and video work.
