Hello! I’m Miriam Bat-Ami, a writer, educator, and performer with a lifelong love of literature and storytelling. I have taught Shakespeare, children’s literature, and multicultural literature at Western Michigan University and Southwest Missouri State University, edited articles, tutored students, and consulted on accreditation projects for the Institute of Children’s Literature with the New York Board of Regents. I also write for young readers and adults, and I enjoy sharing the joy of reading in classrooms, libraries, and community spaces. In addition to teaching and writing, I perform in local theatre, contribute to literary journals and anthologies, and maintain a presence on blogs and in conference venues. My published novels for young readers include Two Suns in the Sky and several picture books, and I continue to explore new ways to tell stories through words, imagery, and performance.
