Built a Chrome extension from scratch to help freelancers find opportunities faster by automatically detecting new client messages and switching to the relevant marketplace tab. Added support for multiple freelance marketplaces with customizable user options. Implemented backend services for message detection and storing user preferences using Node.js and MongoDB. Refactored backend code by organizing routes into layers (Router → Services → DB) to keep logic separated and testing easier. Implemented JWT authentication using RS256 for signing and verifying tokens, and built real-time chat using WebSockets. Also worked on security fundamentals like password hashing and improved maintainability through repeated refactoring.
