I’m Ivy Dey, a first-year BSc (Hons) International Politics student at City, University of London, where I’m building a strong foundation in international relations, political theory, and comparative politics. I particularly enjoy thinking through real-world political puzzles and learning how to interpret information using data analysis—skills I’m developing through modules such as Intro to Political and Economic Data Analysis and Emerging Powers in a Changing World. Alongside my degree, I’ve gained experience through work placements and roles that strengthened my communication and problem-solving. At Netgem, I completed market research, gathered competitor data, and presented recommendations to the whole office to improve user-friendliness and accessibility. I’ve also worked in customer-facing retail/pet care where I advised customers on pet nutrition and behaviour, and I document events through videography and photography—often taking initiative, such as interviewing guests for a memorable message at a wedding.
