At heart, I am a self-proclaimed “method” designer and artist. My design approach is a complete immersion in the process, and watching it unfold from the vision to the reality. Environmental design requires a fair amount of empathy, intuition, and experience to successfully tie all these together. Careful consideration of how someone is going to experience a place has helped influence my decisions regarding function and aesthetics.
I like the energy created by the team during the kick-off of a new project, seeing the vision unfold by the architects and interior designers, and being inspired by the rich visual elements; history, culture, and art that help define a sense of place. These are all chapters of a story that I enjoy weaving into the environmental graphic design experience.
I bring over 30 years of solid design and management experience, in the areas of hospitality, gaming, high-end residential, retail, healthcare, sports facilities, masterplan communities, and education. My expertise is in wayfinding, signage and, experiential design.
Over my career, I have collaborated with and mentored uniquely talented and skilled designers and project managers. I have led the design efforts on projects all over the world including the UAE, Portugal, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Istanbul, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and California.
The companies and institutions that I have built relationships with include Disney, Resorts World, Genting, Emaar, Westfield, UCLA, Park Hyatt, MGM Grand, Four Seasons, St. Joe Land Company, Stevenson School, UC Davis Health, and Zuckerberg San Francisco General.
Other areas of my life that fuel my passion for design and community are soaking up other cultures through travel, cycling all over the Bay Area, training for triathlons, fundraising for charities that I have a personal connection with, creative writing, and designing jewelry.
