At the University of Delhi, I did my Bachelors in Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Small Business. It was a course that taught me about understanding how people think, make choices, and what other factors influence their decisions. Further, it taught me how to think critically, ask better questions, and connect the dots between data and human behavior. This is also where my interest in marketing first sparked. My assignments in Entrepreneurship and Small Business were less about theoretical knowledge and more about stories about entrepreneurs. I worked on projects where I had to think about why people care about a product, how to build a connection with customers, and how to provide them with meaningful experiences. That is where I realized how powerful marketing could be when it is done right and how it is not about selling, but about understanding human behavior and connecting with them. This is exactly why I chose to pursue a postgrad in Strategic Marketing Communications which led me to the direction where I found my passion.

    ‘Nails by Pakhi’ is my personal brand which began as just a side hustle, but enabled me a hands-on experience as a marketer. I learnt delivering quality customer experiences, building a brand identity, and marketing it in the digital space. I worked on creating the branding elements and promotional content, and applied whatever I could that I was learning alongside in Marketing from my college.

    It gave me something no textbook could, hands-on experience in audience psychology, branding, social media strategy, and customer retention. It was the perfect blend of art and marketing that helped me refine my skills and grow as a marketer.

    Creating a Marketing Plan for Conestoga Esports is one of the most defining moments of my postgradion journey. I worked on building a comphensive branding strategy and campaigns for Conestoga Esports where I led the creative direction.

    I led the development of one of the three campaign ideas we presented and the core concept of the plan, that is, building a strategic brand identity. I performed primary research for which I interviewed students from different university and campuses to understand different perspectives around gaming.

    Further, I created the presentation script using storytelling that tied everything together which earned a standing ovation from the panel. It helped the team map out the entire delivery strategy, giving our plan a purpose and a voice.

    This project enabled to grow significantly as a marketer and ingrained in me confidence to bring my skills in my professional endeavours ahead.
