    paper Red Rose

“Red Rose” is an original choral work for SATB, set to the text of my favorite W.B. Yeats poem, “To the Rose upon the Rood of Time.” The piece reflects the poem’s blend of Christian imagery and Irish mythology, evoking the mystical and dreamlike atmospheres the poem captured.

    paper Les Tulipes

“Les Tulipes” (French, meaning tulips) features flute, violin, viola, cello, and piano. The
instrumentation is inspired by the Romantic-style piano quintet, which would include all these
instruments except for the flute, favoring a second violinist instead. The piece is centered around
the tulip, one of nature’s most beautiful flowers, and its symbolic meaning in the Victorian
language of flowers (la langue de fleurs). In this secret language, tulips represent a declaration of
love between romantic partners. This piece seeks to capture the essence of joy, hope, and
    connection associated with the tulip.

“A King's Reverie” is an arrangement of the king’s aria from my opera Dyra, for two double basses. The piece explores the king’s obsessive longing for Dyra, with his inner conflict unfolding through the dialogue between the two instruments. opera composer
