My name is Lucy Mead, and I am a Canadian/American visual artist from Vancouver in the early stages of my career. I am known for my color work and portraiture and I look forward to sharing my skills with a great team. In my 5 years attending Langley Fine Arts School, collaborating with other artists became my true passion. Their rigorous A.P. Visual Arts program taught me concept work, effective research, colour, composition, high productivity and individualism. My portfolio shows versatility, technical skill and unique perspective. I’ve been lucky enough to have some of my works chosen for exhibition at various events. TedX Talks, the young composers competition, and conferences. After graduating I was also given the Nick Schilback Memorial Award for outstanding compassion and consideration within the arts. In 2020 I established my own art business focused on art creation for sale and commission. I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients and create long standing relationships. Adapting to customers' vision and feedback was a great learning opportunity. I worked on projects such as portraits, tattoo designs, logos and more. This venture gave me insight into what art production really takes. I enjoy working with all mediums, the freedom it gives me allows room to explore all kinds of textures and moods. Besides my specialties, I have experience with sculpture, fabric and fibre, digital art, and photography. Currently I’ve been pursuing jobs in a multitude of areas and have been spending my time creating mainly with procreate and inks due to accessibility. The usual subject matter of my art is faces and character work, playing around with the exaggeration of shape and colour. The experience I’ve gained thus far has made me a passionate, communicative, caring, progressive individual. I am confident that what I bring as an employee, a maker, and a person will be a benefit to you and whatever colleagues of yours I have the pleasure of working with.
