Hi, I’m Joel Wise, an experienced audio engineer based in Chicago. I’ve had the privilege to work on some amazing tours and venues, including Jim Henson’s Labyrinth in Concert and the Psychology of Serial Killers Tour. I specialize in FOH, monitors, playback rigs, and system tech in both international and domestic settings.
I love working behind the scenes to make live shows sound perfect, coordinating everything from hardware setup to managing inputs and outputs. Whether it’s a concert tour or a single festival gig, I’m passionate about delivering high-quality audio experiences for artists and audiences alike.

January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2025Managed front of house (FOH) audio and monitor mixing for an international and domestic bus tour. Handled a band in front of a projected film, working with 57 inputs including 12 channels of playback/timecode, and mixing 14 mixes. Used equipment such as Digico SD12, Soundgrid, SMAART, PSM1000, and Axient.
FOH/ Playback at Psychology of Serial Killers Tour
February 1, 2024 - May 31, 2024Worked on FOH/playback during the international and domestic fly dates. Responsible for lecture series audio, managing 4 inputs and 2 RF channels. Customized a 2-computer playback rig and house console.

August 1, 2022 - January 31, 2024Managed all aspects of the tour including travel, merchandise, settlements, hotels, hospitality, and technical production. Supported 31 inputs and 7-12 outputs/RF channels. Operated a custom fly rig, house consoles, and backline during domestic fly dates and driving.
