Bennett Matthews is a student artist based out of State College, Pennsylvania. He is a senior at Penn State University pursuing a Bachelor’s of Design in Digital Art and Media Design with a focus on animation and time-based media. He has experience with animation, creative direction, comic development, illustration, video editing, graphic design, and research and development. He takes inspiration from video games and animation of all kinds, as well as his own life and experiences, and he has been experimenting with animation as a means of journaling, self-exploration, and processing and healing from traumatic events. In his narrative work, he strives for expressive storytelling with representation and diversity among the characters and stories. He is the current event planner and former president of the Animation Club at Penn State. He founded and curated the Penn State Non-Fiction Animation Archive. He has also worked as a Research Intern for the game studio Banjo Toad Studio.
