Having qualified as a typographic designer from the London College of Printing, I then went to St Martins School of Art where I completed my BA Hons. in graphic design and photography. My qualifications made magazines and book publishing a natural fit, so I started out in women's magazine publishing and then moved onto newspaper supplements where I reached the level of Fleet Street Art Director of ES Magazine. Following that I set up my own design practice where I focused on corporate identity/brand development for established and startup companies. This encompassed the full gambit from logo design to brand guidelines, and then to the implementation across the whole business. Projects were diverse so I gained experience in exhibition design, conference stage sets, product design, product presentation literature, corporate communications, website design and motion graphics. I have been able to support the launch of a new startup like Bereavement Training International, and then tight up to conference design and corporate communications/annual reports for large corporates like Standard Chartered Bank , Southern Water and Sodexo. If my training at St Martins taught me one thing, it was to approach a brief with an open mind and deliver the solution that best solves the problem and not just deliver what the current trend happens to be. I offer targeted aesthetic design based problem solving.
