My experience spans narrative tv/film, documentary, commercials, PSA and Music Videos. Passionate about filmmaking, I love the art of storytelling. It's the most collaborative art form where we create intimate moments all can relate to! I learned filmmaking on the job during my five-year apprenticeship with Spike Lee at 40 Acres & A Mule Filmworks. There I experienced a master class on film and learned the importance of working with a committed team driven to deliver their best. I later ran the commercial/music video wing of the company and line-produced and production managed national commercial campaign ads for Diet Coke (Burrell) Nike (Weiden & Kennedy), Ben and Jerry’s, and Levi’s (Foote Cone & Belding), as well as music videos for Prince, Stevie Wonder, Naughty by Nature, and Fishbone. Under Spike I learned to manage the projects from concept, through development, pre-production, post-production, and delivery with list of happy clients. I served for the past four years as Co-producer on Four Died Trying, a groundbreaking multi-part episodic documentary series. My task was to uncover the few remaining eyewitnesses and earwitnesses to the February 1965 assassination of Malcolm X. My responsibilities included copious amounts of meticulous research, composing interview questions, contacting prospective guests, conducting pre- interviews as well as on-camera interviews, serving as field producer, managing crew logistics, operating second camera or sound when necessary. In addition, I screened hundreds of hours of footage creating select reels with the editor in our AVID edit suites. I’m an AICP Commercial Directors Diversity Program 2019 Finalist. That year I directed the TV-One Original Film Loved to Death, and later served in the writing room as screenwriter for season one of the TV-One Dramatic series MEDIA. In 2018 I directed The Bounce TV/AARP In The Cut commercial (starring characters from that hit series). As screenwriter I’ve sold projects to Miramax, USA, Killer Films, TV-One and more. As writer/director my Sundance Institute Developed, Showtime Original Feature 3AM stars Danny Glover, Pam Grier, and Michelle Rodriguez. I was named one of Variety Magazines Top Screenwriters to Watch, and 3AM was nominated for 8 Awards including Alma, NAACP, and Black Reel (now BET) awards. My shorts include A Gut Feeling and Flicker which both aired nationwide on The Sci Fi network. My 2015 short film/web-pilot Mother of The Week is the winner of 8 awards. Along with music, culture, and art, I love my four-year-old Dalmatian, London. We live in Red Hook Brooklyn where we watch Britbox, Apple TV and runs at the dog park. My reel includes commercials, films, music videos, and short film content that I have directed and produced: _Website not available.
