I’m Benon Jurdin Kayembe, a versatile and creative designer with over 7 years of hands-on experience across East Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Originally from Uganda, my design journey spans Kampala, Nairobi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, and Abu Dhabi. I combine traditional craftsmanship like ink-on-paper and large-format printing with strong digital expertise in branding, web design, and development. My strength lies in delivering visually compelling solutions that bridge creativity and functionality.
I believe design should feel human—whether it’s a website, logo, or vinyl banner. My background enables me to adapt aesthetics to cultural contexts and merge durability with beauty, having learned from printing in Nairobi’s humidity and Dubai’s desert heat. With a bold use of color, African visual storytelling, and minimalist Middle Eastern luxury influences, I craft brands that resonate across continents and platforms.

For Boulangerie de Paris, a French-owned artisan bakery operating in London, I was entrusted with crafting a website that visually captured the charm of a traditional Parisian café while meeting the practical expectations of a modern UK audience. The goal was to blend the warmth and elegance of French patisserie culture with a seamless, user-friendly online experience for local and international customers.
I designed a clean, responsive UI/UX layout that highlighted the bakery’s artisanal products—croissants, tarts, baguettes, and cakes—through elegant typography, muted pastel color palettes, and soft imagery. The design mimicked the ambiance of a high-end café, using French-inspired motifs, minimalistic whitespace, and gentle animations to enhance the browsing experience.
Functionally, the website included an intuitive product showcase, daily special highlights, and a click-to-order system for local pickup and delivery. I also integrated social media previews, contact forms, and a story-driven “About Us” section to deepen brand authenticity and customer connection. The site was optimized for mobile devices and built with performance in mind, ensuring quick load times for image-heavy pages.
This project demonstrated my ability to bridge cultural aesthetics—Parisian elegance with British sensibility—into a cohesive digital storefront. The final result was a high-converting, visually refined web presence that not only showcased the bakery’s products but also reflected the artistry behind every pastry.
As the lead designer and brand architect for Breadbox and Marcel—two UAE-based bakery franchises owned by a French entrepreneur—I was tasked with creating a complete visual system that distinguished both brands while maintaining their shared heritage. Breadbox needed a playful, urban look with bold typography and vibrant colors to appeal to a youthful, modern crowd. In contrast, Marcel required an elegant, Parisian aesthetic with pastel tones and refined serif type to reflect its luxury positioning.
I developed two cohesive brand identities, each with its own logo system, color palette, and tone of voice, while ensuring a unified design framework across packaging, menus, and digital assets. I designed custom packaging—coffee cups, takeaway boxes, pastry wraps, and label templates—that worked both for retail and bulk orders. I also directed and styled over 200 product photos, later turning them into high-performing content for Instagram, reels, flyers, and digital ads.
A major part of the project was producing trilingual menus (French, English, Arabic) optimized for both print and screen. I integrated QR codes, location pins, and WhatsApp ordering options into all print material for smooth user journeys. Additionally, I built dynamic templates the client’s team could use in-house, reducing dependency on external design support. Within the first three months of launching the new brand visuals, social media engagement grew by 35%, wholesale inquiries increased, and customer feedback highlighted clearer communication, attractive packaging, and better brand memorability.
This project proved my ability to balance cultural nuance, visual storytelling, and commercial strategy while designing at the intersection of physical and digital experiences.
During my time with MyPrint and Al Ahmadia Advertising in the UAE, I led the creative development of large-format print projects, environmental graphics, and high-impact visual branding across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. My role required balancing design precision with real-world execution—ensuring that everything from small decals to full building wraps delivered flawless quality and brand consistency at scale.
I designed a wide range of advertising materials including billboards, shopfront branding, vehicle wraps, exhibition panels, building mesh banners, and custom signage. These assets were produced for various clients in retail, hospitality, real estate, education, and corporate sectors. Each design was crafted with exact measurements, bleed tolerances, and substrate-specific color profiles to guarantee optimal output across different print media and formats.
Beyond design, I actively collaborated with print technicians, material suppliers, and installers to ensure that digital files translated correctly onto physical surfaces, especially under harsh environmental conditions like Dubai’s sun and wind. I developed templates for scalable multi-location branding and created reusable frameworks for fast client turnaround. My work helped clients achieve bold brand visibility in crowded commercial spaces, driving both walk-in traffic and brand recognition.
My time at MyPrint sharpened my ability to design beyond the screen—thinking in meters instead of pixels, and understanding how a brand can live confidently on streets, storefronts, and even skyscrapers. This hands-on experience grounded my design approach in real-world functionality while maintaining visual excellence.
As the lead designer and developer for Best Option Travels, a UAE-based travel and visa agency, I was responsible for transforming their outdated digital presence into a modern, high-conversion platform tailored for today’s global travelers. The agency specialized in Africa–UAE routes, with a target audience ranging from tourists and business travelers to first-time flyers seeking visa support. My goal was to simplify complex service offerings while giving the brand a trustworthy, modern look that builds instant confidence.
I started by completely redesigning the brand’s visual language—introducing a professional logo, clean typography, a calm yet vibrant color scheme, and a cohesive brand voice across all platforms. From there, I built a responsive, bilingual website with custom pages for flight bookings, visa services, seasonal travel packages, and promotional campaigns. I focused on improving the user journey by creating an intuitive navigation flow, WhatsApp and call-to-action buttons, and mobile-first booking pathways optimized for UAE’s mobile-heavy audience.
The platform also featured dynamic package listings, inquiry forms, client testimonials, and a blog space to support SEO. I integrated local payment gateways and embedded GDS booking system compatibility to support real-time reservations and itinerary inquiries. Alongside the web development, I designed digital assets for the agency’s social media—seasonal banners, promotional flyers, Instagram stories, and WhatsApp campaign graphics.
Within weeks of launching the new site, Best Option Travels saw a 25% increase in social media-driven inquiries, improved user retention, and faster processing thanks to the automated inquiry structure I built. My full-spectrum involvement—from branding and UI/UX to development and content—helped the agency modernize its image and serve more clients with less friction.
