    Love, Bugs Campaign Concept
‘Love, Bugs.’ is an engagement campaign concept created to educate people on insects and their purpose as well as foster empathy for them. The campaign is in connection with the Entomological Society of America, the world’s largest organization of entomologists, focused on promoting the science of insects for the benefit of society. Using multiple platforms, including public messages, social media, merchandise and an educational webpage, the campaign uses playful messaging reframing insects as essential workers. By highlighting insects' ecological importance the messages poke fun at the audience for being afraid of them. The bug ‘ambassadors’ featured in the campaign are hand drawn with an endearing, cartoon style, transforming what are typically viewed as scary or gross creatures into relatable characters. Additionally, the insects were assigned each profession based on their ecological role and reason for being in the spaces they can be found in. This project aims to shift audiences' perspectives from disgust and fear to appreciation, challenging them to view urban spaces as shared environments. illustrator graphicdesigner…
