Victor Rivas Alvarez is a seasoned VFX Supervisor with nearly two decades of experience in film production and post-production. He began his career in 2005 and later founded Varita Fílmica in 2012, establishing one of Puerto Rico’s leading post-production companies. During this period, he oversaw high-end commercial, music video, and film work, including the creation of the iconic Air-Con robot for Daikin, a character that became central to the brand’s identity across international markets. Victor’s work expanded internationally when he contributed to blockbuster films such as Captain America: Civil War, collaborating with the Russo Brothers on set photography and scanning for post-production. His experience as a Digital Compositor on features like Todo X Sara, Dos Caminos, and Replicas strengthened his reputation as a versatile artist capable of leading teams and delivering complex sequences at scale. Following the impact of Hurricane Maria in 2017, Victor transitioned to the U.S. market, serving as a Visual Effects Supervisor for ABC Primetime and later contributing to the development of innovative crowd simulation workflows for the series Menudo: Súbete a Mi Moto. In 2019, Victor joined MPC Film as a Digital Compositor, contributing to productions such as Noelle, Clifford: The Big Red Dog, and The One and Only Ivan, winner of the 2020 HPA Award for Best Visual Effects. That same year, he founded Lacus Post, which has since grown into a trusted boutique partner for global studios, agencies, and production companies. In 2023, he expanded further with the launch of Lacus Entertainment, a division focused on film production, and emerging technologies. From 2023 to 2024, Victor supervised and led post-production efforts for the feature film Las Super Estrellas de la Lucha Libre, a commercial success in Puerto Rico that later secured theatrical distribution in the United States. Today, Victor continues to grow Lacus Post’s presence across Florida, Georgia, and New York, supporting productions leveraging state tax incentives and providing scalable, secure, end-to-end post-production and VFX services. He remains committed to strengthening the VFX community, promoting collaboration, and empowering emerging talent across the industry. He is currently preparing his directorial debut on a project that is expected to generate significant attention for its innovation in technology, VFX, and storytelling in USA.
