Bulgarian-British film composer Vesselina has scored “The Same Sky” series, A ZDF production for Netflix, in addition to independent films and documentaries. She began her career as a classically trained concert pianist, graduate of the London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her versatile professional career includes establishing a music school in London, performing international concerts as a piano soloist and recording film music as a session pianist. Throughout her concert career Vesselina performed her original solo piano works alongside Western masterpieces, receiving a wide acclaim by critics and audiences alike. Currently Vesselina is focusing on opportunities in media scoring. At a moment when it seemingly has become the norm to provide standardized musicalmood gravy for film score Vesselina actually writes music - with clearly developed themes. While never falling into the trap of illustrating or commenting nor ever screaming into the audience’s faces their tunes effortlessly create an own little universe within the context of the dramatic core of each scene.Their unique compositions here are simply brilliant and astonishing at the same time. Oliver Hirshcbiegel, Director, The Same Sky, Downfall "Music, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder - or the ear... Composers for the screen will have many voices in their own ears trying to describe what is wanted.. ultimately it comes down to the composers own dramatic instinct and here Vesselina surpassed all expectations. They combined understated emotional intelligence with verve and originality, enhancing tension where needed and poignancy and pathos where the drama dictated it. In 30 years of screen writing I have never experienced such musical empathy for the material. It was a revelation and an inspiration. I can say no more!!"
