Nigeria Celebrates is a social platform built to showcase Nigerian talent, history, and culture. Users can upload media like videos and music to share their skills, discover historical Nigerian icons, and participate in interactive weekly quizzes. The platform also includes a live-streaming feature where creators can broadcast video in real time to their audience, making it a highly interactive and engaging community space.
As the Backend Developer, I built the core engine that makes all these features work using Python, FastAPI, and SQL databases. I set up secure login systems that allow users to sign in safely using their social media accounts. Additionally, I managed the complex technology behind the live video broadcasts, connected an AI assistant to automatically generate the quiz questions, and built a fair voting system that strictly limits users to one vote, ensuring the platform runs smoothly and securely.
Doction is a modern document processing system designed to automate information extraction and data organization. By combining Optical Character Recognition (OCR) via Tesseract and Large Language Model (LLM) text parsing using Ollama, the application extracts and structures key data from uploaded documents, which it then automatically saves to a designated Notion database. The system features a FastAPI backend coupled with a responsive, user-friendly frontend that supports drag-and-drop uploads and real-time processing status updates.
SalesFunnel is a digital platform in Nigeria that helps local wholesalers buy products from big distributors. Many small businesses struggle to keep their shelves stocked because they lack cash, so SalesFunnel partners with institutions like Carbon Microfinance Bank to offer them loans. However, instead of handing out raw cash that could be misspent, the platform locks the loan money so it can only be used to buy physical goods directly within the SalesFunnel app. This makes lending incredibly safe for the bank while keeping the small businesses fully stocked.
As the Backend Engineer, I built the technology that safely moves all this money behind the scenes. Using Python and FastAPI, I created an automated payment system that instantly divides the money from a sale and sends it to the correct parties—like the platform, the bank, and the distributor. I connected our system to popular payment providers like Paystack and Monnify to process these transactions smoothly. I also built strong security checks that verify a user’s exact bank account details before any money is transferred, ensuring every single payout is completely accurate and safe.
