Design & Migration of Amal Toys Online Store

Project Overview:

I was hired to fully redesign, develop, and migrate the Amal Toys eCommerce store a brand specializing in outdoor and indoor toys for kids from WooCommerce to the Salla platform. The project included everything from custom design to domain setup and final launch.

🛠️ My Responsibilities & Steps Taken:

1. Initial Assessment & Data Collection:

Audited the WooCommerce store to understand structure and weaknesses.

Reviewed the product data and attempted a bulk import.

Manually added over 65 products due to incompatible import formatting.

2. Theme Design & Customization:

Selected a playful, child-friendly theme tailored to the target audience.

Customized layout, fonts, colors, and homepage banners.

Designed key pages: Homepage, About Us, Contact, and Product Listings.

3. Product Management:

Organized all products into categories: Slides, Swings, Trampolines, and more.

Reviewed product names, descriptions, and SEO structure.

Suggested improvements for future SEO and content optimization.

4. Platform & Store Setup:

Configured store settings including:

Payment methods

Shipping zones

Order confirmation messages

Notification settings

Assisted with configuring customer communication and order flow.

5. Domain Configuration (Hostinger → Salla):

Updated DNS and A records via Hostinger.

Successfully pointed domain amaltoys.com to Salla platform.

Guided the client through Salla’s store verification process.

6. Email Integration:

Provided instructions to connect the store’s domain email via Hostinger.

Ensured MX records and settings were correct for proper email delivery.

7. Client Communication & SEO Advice:

Offered branding and product presentation tips based on competitor analysis.

Compared with competitor hatoysstore.com, highlighting areas to improve:

Better SEO

Higher image quality

Consistent branding

Suggested future improvements like Google Reviews integration.

8. Project Completion:

Final review of all pages, product listings, and theme layout.

Ensured site was mobile-friendly and ready for launch.

Requested client feedback and Upwork review.
