Enhanced Python-based firewall log-processing tools for Cisco ASA and FortiGate devices by implementing new parsing logic and rule-processing features, improving log analysis accuracy and coverage. Engineered a Python script to aggregate source and destination IPs into CIDR blocks using threshold-based clustering and Jaccard similarity metrics. Added automated configuration validation by comparing local configuration files against templates to detect structural differences. Expanded CLI functionality with user-defined input/output options and directory-wide processing support. Refactored 1,000+ lines of legacy Python code into object-oriented modules and classes to improve maintainability and reduce technical debt. Implemented CI/CD pipelines using Ruff, Pylint, pytest, and uv, reducing GitLab CI execution time by 60%.
