I previously wrote for Rigel, a green restroom company based in Singapore. Here is an excerpt from the newsletter I was in charge of during my brief stint working for them:
The Edge of Green
The Edge of Green - setting a trend for green living in the not so distant future. At this age of enlightened living, going green for the sake of protecting the environment will be, we believe, the start of a worldwide trend of green living. In this spirit, playing our part in cutting-edge water and power-saving technology, in order to protect what remains of the precious resources on our only planet for the sake of the generations to come, we at Rigel wish to enforce the idea that taking up the helm of leading the green edge movement is a trendy new start to life in the not so distant future. As such, Rigel commemorates the UN World Water Day and Global Earth Hour, on 22nd March and 31st March respectively, with this latest issue of Rigerous.
Greening and Sleeking into the Future
Commemorating our 21st anniversary with a brand new icon, the “Green and Sleek” icon is thematic of our prime maxim, that of green sustainable living and eco-friendly technology. Coming up with this icon is symbolic of our spirit of keeping up with the times; at our 21st year we are still setting the pace of trends locally, and globally.
Fashionistas call green the new black, and we are keen on emphasising that with our new icon, which superimposes the word “Sleek” in black, over a background of green, seamlessly merging two trends together. The simplicity of the design itself emphasises the sleekness of our products; green as they are, style is never compromised.
Ultimately, we wish our new icon to inspire those who wish to set trends in the bustling metropolis, the charisma of living sleek while conserving what remains of nature. It is to engender the new paradigm conscious shift towards caring and protecting mother nature. This growing commitment is enforced by us, with our eco-friendly technology.
Flashbacks - Signing Inroads into North China
IE Singapore has provided a pledge grant to all enterprising companies wishing to enter the North China market of 9.5 million dollars. And look who’s storming that market: Rigel! The grant will be provided over a 5-year period, and administered through SSTEC. We will be using Tianjin Eco-City as an initial springboard into the greater North China market, and establishing a foothold through these first forays.
At the Panel Discussion hosted in regards to this event, we were asked why did we select Tianjin Eco-City as our second showroom in China, which we promptly replied, “RT’s range of eco-sanitary ware is very much in line with the Eco-City’s theme.”
