My name is Charlene Potts-White, and I'm an illustrator, artist, and surface designer originally from New York, now based in Naas, just outside Dublin, Ireland. I hold a BFA from Parsons School of Design in New York City and have been honoured with several awards throughout my creative career. My work is inspired by the visual language of the Harlem Renaissance, 20th-century pop art, botanicals, nature, and an inclusive global perspective. It is characterised by fluid lines, organic forms, rich textures, expressive hand lettering, and a palette of warm earth tones accented with vibrant colour. Whether creating layered illustrations in Photoshop, surface designs in Illustrator, or other brand visuals, I strive to tell meaningful stories that celebrate culture, connection, and the beauty found in everyday life. Each project is approached with curiosity, thoughtful research, and a balance of artistic expression and practical design, resulting in work that is both visually engaging and purposeful. Over the years, I have created artwork and design across a wide range of industries, including magazine, newspaper, and book publishing, album covers, advertising and promotional campaigns, museum and public exhibitions, as well as surface pattern design for apparel and lifestyle products. Past clients include The New York Times, Entrepreneur, Levi's, Citibank, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Women's Press Collective, Time Out, WFUV Radio, Cambridge University Press, Scholastic, Sasquatch Books, Running Press, The George Washington Carver Museum, Dublin Canvas, and many more. Drawing on a rich cultural background and a broad range of creative experience, I bring both depth and authenticity to every project. I enjoy collaborating with clients who value originality, thoughtful storytelling, and purposeful design. My goal is to create work that not only captures attention but also resonates, communicates, and leaves a lasting impression. Some samples of my work: CharlenePotts.com
