Hi, I’m Larry “DS” Isen, a long-time self-directed programmer with experience dating back decades. I started programming as a hobby in fourth grade, and I’ve been writing programs (mostly games) ever since. “The Dragon of Darkness Meets a Druid in the Woods” (6 games, including a prequel), “The Morgash Chronicles” (5 games), and the “Master Eye” trilogy (3 games) were my longest-running series, but I’ve also written a lot of smaller one-shot games, including an updated remake of the first Druid in the Woods game (appropriately named Druid In The Woods: Update), coded in C# and Unity and available on my GitHub.
(Sadly, the Master Eye games are not available. I’m sure I have them mouldering on an old floppy disc somewhere, but … yeah, they’re quite old)
My most recent project was a recreation of an Atari 2600 game (on a broken console, making the game more challenging), and I’m currently working on remaking my Master Eye games (recreating the graphics and gameplay from scratch and from memory), both of which were created (or will be created) on the Godot platform.
Alongside my programming work, I’ve also ventured into writing, contributing to tabletop role-playing games and producing engaging (read: funny… well, I hope it’s funny. I thought it was funny) content for social media platforms.
I do not use AI slop in my writing (or, for that matter, in my programming), even though I’m pretty sure most of this intro was auto-generated with AI. I’m replacing it with as much of my own writing as I can. Warning: I do use m-dashes a lot — they’re fun; semicolons, too.
I’m basically looking for a Forever Home where I can be happily productive (and can add some money to the ol’ family bank account — food isn’t cheap, you know) until I retire, and probably even past that.

Yes, little trademark symbol and all. Originally conceived of for a game jam, I instead spent a couple months adding features to it. The game is basically Flag Capture for the Atari 2600, but played on an old dusty console whose graphic memory keeps corrupting, making it difficult to tell where the flag is. Difficulty settings include slowing down the player, increasing the number of bombs on the field (which are what cause the graphic distortions), and difference in how much the graphics un-corrupt when you find the flag (default is that they go back to normal, the harder game variant has it only reduce the corruption by a few steps). There’s also a “children’s version” (as it was called on the 2600) where there’s no graphical corruption at all.
Anyway, enough describing, get to playing: https://www.twine.net/signin
