Damian Moloney is an Australian composer and sound designer specializing in interactive audio for art installations, theatre, video games, and digital art projects. Operating under Damian Moloney Music and Sound (DMMS), he designs immersive auditory environments that bridge the gap between physical spaces and digital narratives.
With a background in percussion and a passion for sonic experimentation, Damian combines organic instrumentation, modular synthesis, and field recordings to build unique sonic palettes. His recent work highlights a shift toward physical and cultural spaces. In the 2024/2025 season, Damian created the interactive visuals and audio for the Understories exhibition at the Wagga Art Gallery. He followed this with the original score and sound design for FreeRoam Theatre’s stage production of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and provided audio editing and composition for Juanita McLauchlan’s Yilaa minyaminyabal maaru-ma-lda-y (Soon everything will be healing).
This artistic sensitivity is backed by deep technical expertise in interactive media. Damian’s portfolio includes dynamic scores for acclaimed indie games such as ΔV: Rings of Saturn, Super Sami Roll, and the intense twin-stick shooter NIMRODS: GunCraft Survivor.
Damian collaborates with artists, directors, and developers worldwide, crafting bespoke audio solutions that enhance the emotional impact and immersion of interactive experiences.
