My name is Ebony Gibbs, a visual artist who creates artwork with a story to tell, using traditional mediums like acrylic and ink or digital tools like Blender, Photoshop and Procreate. I create to inspire and express emotion. I’ve had amazing opportunities collaborating with art directors and traveling to studios around the world to learn more about the creative industry and the skills of art. I’m a creative beast hungry for knowledge and inspiration, always eager to learn and to create.
I love combining storytelling with visual design, exploring both traditional and digital techniques, and continually expanding my craft through collaboration, research, and hands-on projects.

Abstract Parade is a series of traditional artworks that I had created for my A-levels independent project in 2021.
These artworks were created to focus on the themes of colour and movement. These abstract works and colourful visuals are a testament to my dedication and skilful work in bringing my visions and expressions to life but also the start to my art career.

Hello old bean is a project that I had worked on in university. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Pit magazine along with meeting their art director, Holly Catford.
For this project, we were tasked with choosing two articles and creating three different illustrations for them. One being the front cover for the magazine, the second being a full-page illustration and the third being a spot illustration. The articles I chose were “Hello Old Bean” written by Toni Olukiran and the other called “Spilling the beans” by Gemma Boothroyd. Both articles talked about beans across the world and their history which was so intriguing to read and learn about. The articles are very comedic to me which is why I decided to create these types of illustrations as I wanted them to meet the same vibe.

The scaffolding girl is about an editorial project I had worked on during my time in university. For this editorial project, we were required to choose an article and create an illustration within 190mm by 100mm. I chose an article titled “social media isn’t driving the plastic surgery boom. Who doesn’t want to look better?". This article talks about the youth and plastic surgery, and it is suggesting that social media is heavily influencing young people to get plastic surgery to feel beautiful.
For my final design, I Illustrated a young teenage girl on her phone looking at social media. Her phone is a portal that allows plastic surgeons who look like gremlins, to come out of her phone and start to build around her, getting ready to start a surgery; symbolising social media influence on her.

Sea Air Foods is based on a food and drink project during my time in university. We collaborated with an illustration agency called Handsome Frank, where I was able to meet and present my work to Tom and Jon who are the founders of Handsome Frank.
For this project, we were tasked with creating designs for an already existing food company or our own made up one. I needed to submit eight illustrations in a similar style/technique and four mock up examples.
I had decided to create my very own food company called “Sea Air” which was inspired by the town my mother grew up in Jamaica. Focusing on Jamaican cuisine and culture, I created Mascots, food packaging designs and brand merch like T-shirts for this project.

At University, I was part of Rave Frame issue 3. I was tasked to create an illustration with panels, the theme for this project was Myths and Legends.
I chose to create an illustration of the Legendary King Arthur who has a fierce and victorious battle against the mythical demon dog known as the Barghest.
However, I created a fun twist with the setting being set in modern day London, on regent street during an autumns evening.
