I am Lex Hakke, a Leiden-based composer, arranger and conductor with a lifelong engagement in jazz, pop and musical theatre. I have written and arranged music for choirs, jazz and pop ensembles, big bands and symphonic groups, and I enjoy creating music for stage, dance and film.
As an educator and collaborator, I taught Music Theory and Songwriting at Codarts Rotterdam Conservatory from 1979 to 2012, authored a keyboard course for LOI, and worked as an arranger for ChorusOnLine and other publishers. My work spans commissions for national and international ensembles (including Wiener Philharmoniker) and educational projects that bring music to life on stage and screen.
